Points to ponder.....

Date 11/08/2006 On my way to Mumbai.....
Well i am back to the blog, but maybe a bit late.
In fact i wanted to write this post almost 3 days back, when i was at Vizag.
My first impression about the city.....Very good!
I mean Vizag is just like any other south indian town.....clean, rustic, green and full of warmth.
Then i had to move away from it, and that was when i wanted to share some moments with all of you.
The first thing that impressed me was National Highway 5...from Chennai to Calcutta.....Simply amazing! It was a though i was in some south-east asian country like Thailand.....Too good....
Then came the reality.....as soon as we left the highway, the condition of the roads deteriorated rapidly. i mean in the end, there was a "road" but no tar was to be seen. i am putting some photos online and you can see what kind of a "road" we travelled on.
The issue is not of the roads or their condition. It is about the developmental stage we are in. i know, transforming India into a developed country is a herculean task, and there are thousands of issues to be tackled. But my heart says, why is it not possible? Why are we so corrupt?
There must have been some specific amount of money sanctioned for the road that i travelled on. Then why was the condition of that road so bad?
Has this nothing to do with corruption? Has this nothing to do with the various taxes we are paying?
So many things came to my mind and i had to pacify myself saying, "Don't worry yar, by the time you will be in your late 30s, India will surely be a developed country!"
That is another 15years......will it happen?
