My Chaiwala....
I am back guys, and that too with vengeance.
But first let me tell you the meaning of the word given above.
Chaiwala....
means a tea-vendor, to be precise :-)
The hindi for tea is "chai" and "chaiwala" means a person who makes and sells tea.
There's this shop just close to my house where i generally have my morning or evening tea.
I don't even know the name of this man who sells me tea, but i am impressed by his attitude towards me.
"Chai acchi bani thi na bauji? Kya aapko pasand nahi ayi?" (Was the tea tasty? Did you like it?) is what he asks me everytime i visit his shop.
It just sums up the most important theories taught by management gurus in B-Schools and discussed in thousands of books......"customer satisfaction"!
Well, my chaiwala, just like my India, has his own constraints. Most of the times, he falls short of the amount of tea required for the numerous customers who are waiting in a huddle around his shop. A typical example of less infrastructure to meet the customer demand. He is short on capital to carry out any investment further, at the same time, there is no entreprenurial risk-taking attitude, and the profit made at the end of the day holds back whatever plans of expansion. Many customers lose their patience and go away. At the same time, many stay for the sheer taste.
It's really interesting to observe things around me, and life is getting interesting. Will update you as the next week has a lot of activity on professional front. Hope you have the time to read bits of my blog...
